112 Golfers Tee ‘fore’ a Cure in Support of the National Cancer Society
A fantastic day on the course, a full field of golfers and a truly important cause came together at Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club on Sunday, 9 August for the 2026 National Cancer Society Golf Tournament, Teeing ‘fore’ a Cure.
An impressive 28 teams of four, 112 golfers in total, turned out for the annual scramble, making it one of the best-supported tournaments on the Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club calendar.
The event brought together players, sponsors and supporters for an afternoon of friendly competition, great sportsmanship and plenty of camaraderie, all in aid of the Turks and Caicos Islands National Cancer Society.
Teeing ‘fore’ a Cure has become a much-loved fixture at RTCGC over the years, combining a fun, inclusive day of golf with an important fundraising mission. The tournament welcomes golfers of all levels, with the emphasis firmly on enjoying the game while supporting a cause that touches so many families across the Islands.
Funds raised through the event help the National Cancer Society continue its invaluable work, including patient support and education, as well as providing information on cancer prevention, treatment and available options.
Tournament Director Marc Rawlins thanked the golfers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters whose continued commitment has helped make the tournament such a success year after year.
Competition on the course was strong, with the top four teams finishing:
1st: Chris Gornall, Carol Brown, Carl Defazio and Joe Camarro
2nd: Alec Belvin, Alex Aquino, Jamie Gray and Kurt Rivers
3rd: Simon Taylor, Pierre Magnier, Gareth Butler and Dale Hodgkins
4th: Perry Delancy, Rico Rolle, Caesar Campbell and Paul Beresford
The prize presentation was made even more special with Her Excellency the Governor, Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, joining the event to present prizes to the winning teams.
There was also added excitement on the course thanks to Connolly Kia, with Josephine Connolly supporting the Hole-in-One competition and a brand-new Kia on offer for the perfect shot.
Beyond the scores and trophies, however, the real success of the day was the support shown for the National Cancer Society and the individuals and families it assists throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Every swing, every putt and every contribution helped make a meaningful difference.
Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club extends a huge thank you to all 28 teams, the tournament organisers, volunteers and every sponsor who helped make the 2026 Teeing ‘fore’ a Cure such an outstanding success.
It is the continued support of the golfing and wider Turks and Caicos community that makes this event so special and ensures that a great day of golf also has an impact far beyond the course.
