Andy Shaw brings more than 35 years of experience in golf coaching, player development, golf operations and club management to Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club.

Originally from London, Ontario, Andy spent much of his career in the region before moving to Oakville to take on the role of General Manager at two golf courses. Throughout his career, he has worked at municipal, public and private clubs, giving him a broad understanding of the game and the different needs of golfers at every level.

Andy has a strong background in education and competitive coaching. As Head Varsity Golf Coach for men’s and women’s collegiate teams, he guided four teams to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Championships and coached three Ontario Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Gold Medal teams. He also taught Golf Management at Fanshawe College, helping students develop their playing skills, course strategy and knowledge of the golf industry.

Growing the game has always been one of Andy’s greatest passions. He founded the area’s first girls-only junior golf programme and introduced more than 900 girls to the sport. He also developed junior coaching programmes, beginner initiatives, strength and conditioning sessions and parent-and-child tournaments. One of his junior programmes grew participation from just 12 golfers to 97.

Andy believes golf should be enjoyable, encouraging and accessible. His lessons combine clear technical instruction with course management, confidence building and an understanding of each golfer’s individual goals. Whether you are taking up the game for the first time, returning after a break or hoping to improve your competitive performance, Andy offers a supportive and practical approach.

For Andy, golf is a lifelong sport that can be played both competitively and recreationally. He enjoys the mental challenge, personal responsibility and memorable moments of achievement that make the game so rewarding.

Now based in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Andy is enjoying the relaxed Caribbean lifestyle, beautiful beaches, water activities, local restaurants and of course, the opportunity to play and teach golf in a world-class setting.
