Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club is proud to celebrate an exceptional evening of recognition at the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association Star Awards, highlighted by a very special honour for our own Dave Douglas.
Dave was named Shining Star, the top award of the night, recognising his outstanding contribution to the tourism industry and the wider community. For many years, Dave has been the driving force behind the club’s welcoming culture and reputation for excellence. His leadership extends far beyond daily operations, supporting countless charity tournaments, community initiatives, and junior golf programmes that introduce young people across the Turks and Caicos to the game.
Working within the unique challenges of operating a golf course that predates much of the island’s tourism growth, Dave has consistently delivered exceptional guest experiences while maintaining a strong sense of community. Visitors often arrive with last-minute or unexpected booking challenges, and Dave is known for personally ensuring that every guest feels accommodated, welcomed, and valued. His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for people embody the very best of Turks and Caicos hospitality.
This recognition reflects not only his professional achievements, but also his passion for mentoring staff, supporting colleagues, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen the tourism sector across the islands. Dave’s commitment to excellence and service has helped position Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club as one of the Caribbean’s most respected golf destinations, and we are incredibly proud to see him honoured in this way.
The evening also brought recognition for the club itself, with Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club receiving the Green Ally Award. This award acknowledges our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, including water conservation initiatives, responsible turf management, and sustainable course operations that protect the natural beauty of Providenciales while delivering world-class playing conditions.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Dave and to all the award recipients who continue to elevate the Turks and Caicos tourism industry.
