The 9th annual National Cancer Society Scramble ‘Teeing ‘fore’ a Cure’ was a huge success, raising over $20,000 for a great cause on Sunday, May 5th. Tournament Chairman Marc Rawlins spearheaded the event, known for its unique rules on each hole, enhancing the casual and fun nature of the tournament.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to headline sponsors Stanbrook/Prudhoe Law, Golden Eagle Sponsor South Bank, and Silver Birdie Sponsors Seven Stars, Caribbean Beer and Spirits, Dickenson Insurance, Wymara Resort, along with many other generous donations from the business community in the form of hole sponsorships, silent auction gifts, and tournament prizes. It was a true community effort!

The tournament featured a strong field of 96 golfers. Congratulations to the champion team of Luc Marengere, Gervin Simmons, Tony Garland, and Jamie McAnally, who narrowly beat out Nick Aquino, Alex Aquino, Alec Belvin, and Kurt Rivers. The spirit of camaraderie and fun was palpable as everyone reflected on how fortunate we are to participate while supporting those who cannot.

A highlight of the day was Kurt Rivers scoring a hole-in-one on the 8th hole, sponsored by Connolly Kia. His amazing pitching wedge shot from 154 yards won him a brand-new KIA SPORTAGE. Thank you, Connolly KIA, for your continued support!

Funds raised will support cancer patients and their families, providing financial assistance for treatment and medical equipment, as well as education on prevention, screening, treatment, and emotional support.

A great day was had by all! Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.
