Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club – 2024 Club Championships Recap
The 31st Annual Royal Turks & Caicos Golf Club Championships concluded successfully, celebrating an impressive showcase of skill, competition, and sportsmanship. Held on October 26th and 27th, this year’s strokeplay tournament brought together 36 participants, including six ladies, across various flights and special categories.
Ladies Club Champion: Andrea Todd led with a stellar 156.
Men’s Club Champion: Kurt Rivers emerged as champion with an outstanding 149.
Comeback Award: Cesar Castillo made an inspiring comeback, improving by 8 shots.
Senior Club Champion: Bill Koutsouras, with a score of 166.
Championship Highlights
- Ladies 2nd Flight: Carol Brown claimed the Low Gross with a score of 201, while Tazmara Gowans followed with a score of 208.
- Ladies 1st Flight: Denise Douglas won Low Gross honors with an impressive 177.
- Men’s 4th Flight: Simon Dobbs led the field with a Low Gross of 180, followed by Mark Norman (187), Bryan Montgomery (189), and Tony Garland (191).
- Men’s 3rd Flight: Toby Barkworth took Low Gross with 172, with strong performances by Jamie McAnally (174) and Carl DeFazio (176).
- Men’s 2nd Flight: Rick Sanmiya topped his flight with a score of 168, with close competition from John Donatien (169), Vaughan Paisley (172), Jumphol Srinark (172), and Steve Ross (175).
- Men’s 1st Flight: Chris Gornall scored 159 for Low Gross, closely followed by Bill Koutsouras at 166.
