Royal and Caicos Golf Club Hosts Successful Wine Cellar Golf & Fishing Tournament

Over the weekend, the Royal and Caicos Golf Club was abuzz with excitement as golf enthusiasts teed off for the 13th Annual Wine Cellar Tournament. The event, a highlight of the club’s calendar, brought together 100 golfers in a spirited display of skill and camaraderie, all in the name of charity.

The tournament, organized in a 4-man scramble format, showcased impressive talent on the green, with the winning team clinching victory with a remarkable score of 127.92. Led by Ted Bayley, Tony Arata, Graham Canham, and Vaughan Paisley, their performance was nothing short of stellar.

Yet, beyond the thrill of competition, the true triumph of the event lay in its philanthropic mission. Thanks to the generosity of participants and sponsors alike, an astounding $481,000 has been raised thus far. These funds are earmarked for the Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and enriching environment for the youth of Providenciales.

The impact of this support cannot be overstated. The Youth Centre offers a diverse array of after-school activities, ranging from tutoring to sports, recreation, arts, and crafts. For many young individuals, it serves as a beacon of opportunity and a hub for personal growth.

A heartfelt thank you is owed to the event’s sponsors, whose unwavering commitment made the tournament’s success possible. From Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club to Blue Haven Marina, and headline sponsors including Carlisle Supplies, Casablanca Casino, Jais, TCI Lotto, and TCI Paint, their contributions have left an indelible mark on the community.

As the cheers of victory fade and the greens return to tranquility, the impact of the Wine Cellar Tournament resonates far beyond the fairways. It stands as a testament to the power of sport, community, and generosity, all united in support of a brighter future for the youth of Providenciales.
